Welcome to the eleventh Bugle for 2023!

This month, Hawkeye7 contributes an op-ed on the challenges of writing articles in summary style.

The regular article news section covers four new featured articles, a featured picture and -- after a few lean months -- six new A-class articles.

Lastly, the book review section boasts two new reviews, by Hawkeye7 on logistics in the English Civil War, and by Peacemaker67 on Austro-Hungarian torpedo boats of World War I.

The October edition of the contest department's article writing contest saw Zawed take the top spot in the contest with 63 points from 10 articles. He claims the Wikichevrons as his prize. Belated recognition for Zawed who finished second with 28 points from 5 articles in the September edition of the content and was awarded the Writer's Barnstar. Simongraham finished second in the October contest with 35 points from 5 articles and was awarded the Writer's Barnstar. Other entries in October were submitted by Djmaschek, Dofftoubab, Pickersgill-Cunliffe, and Sturmvogel 66. Monthly totals are applied to the overall 2023 writer's cup, which will be decided at the end of December.

The November edition of the contest is now open. Consider submitting your current article projects as entries into the competition.
